Frequently Asked Questions

Only EU member states and non-EU program countries (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Macedonia, and Turkey) are included in the mobility activities in the first year of the program. The number of program countries is expected to increase in the upcoming years.

Students who are at the higher education level and plan to study for a master’s degree are offered for the Joint Master Degrees and Erasmus+ Degree Loans with the Erasmus+ period.

In order to attend the student mobility program, you need to be a student. On the other hand, a change made in the new semester allows students who graduated recently to attend an internship mobility program. This allows students who have applied to the internship program while they are still students to attend internship mobility within one year after their graduation for up to 12 months. If the students want to attend the internship activity after graduation, they should apply to the higher education institution while they are still a student. Applications after graduation are not accepted.

Erasmus Office or the higher education institutes are not responsible for the accommodation services. However, the EU offices in the host country will inform you about the accommodation services.

Visa procedures are the responsibility of the candidates. It is very important to complete the documents requested by the consulate/embassy of the host country during the visa application process. If the students wish, the home institution will deliver a paper which states the amount of the grant of the mobility program in order to ease the visa procedures.

You can only go to the countries/institutions we have an agreement with.

Students have the opportunity to benefit from Erasmus student mobility activities for 12 months with or without grants at each level of education (bachelor, master, and Ph.D.). However, if you have benefited from another Lifelong Learning Program or Erasmus+ mobility scheme while pursuing the same level of academic degree, the months will be reduced from 12 months and your grant amount will be calculated according to this procedure. The higher education institution will be able to give priority to students who have not previously benefited from an Erasmus+ Mobility or Lifelong Learning Program. Thus, many students can benefit from these programs. If you have participated previously in any Erasmus+ Mobility (Study or Traineeship) in the same level of education, 10 points reduction will be applied to your Erasmus+ Score.

The extension of the mobility program will be possible in case of the approval of the student’s request by the higher education institute. If there is enough funding to support the student for one more semester, the student can extend the mobility program with a grant. If there isn’t enough funding to support the student, the student can extend the mobility program without a grant, provided that all the program rules are applied. Otherwise, the extension of the mobility program will only be possible if the students continue their education in the same higher education institution as the first semester. If the student/staff wants to attend a mobility program for the second time in a different country, a new application and selection process is required.
