Course Selection Procedures
If a student believes they have added missing or excess courses, they may withdraw from these courses with the approval of the head of the department and their advisor. Be sure to apply in writing within the periods specified in the academic calendar.
Students who do not renew their course registrations within the period announced in the academic calendar cannot attend that semester and cannot benefit from student rights. This period is included in the total education period. A passive student is defined as one who has not renewed their registration. This period is also counted within the maximum education period. Students who fail to renew their registration cannot benefit from student rights.
After paying the tuition fee, associate and undergraduate students may take courses during the add-drop period.
Graduate students must select their courses, obtain approval from their supervisors, and then proceed with payment.
Students are responsible for completing all registration renewal procedures.
Diploma Procedures
Students who successfully complete all classes, practical sessions, and internships required by their program, in accordance with the regulations, are entitled to receive a diploma. Excluding the preparatory class, students must have earned ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits equal to at least thirty times the number of semesters in their curriculum or sixty times the number of years.
Graduates whose diplomas have not yet been issued may receive a Graduation Certificate, which includes their graduation and diploma details, upon submitting a written request. Graduation Certificates are signed by the dean in schools, the executive in institutes, and the vocational school director. This document is issued only once.
Students requesting a Graduation Certificate must submit a letter of withdrawal, have the relevant units approve the withdrawal document, submit a Graduation Certificate request via MEBIS, and check whether the certificate is ready.
Students whose Graduation Certificates are ready can collect them from the relevant dean’s office, directorate, or institute by providing the Letter of Withdrawal and the Withdrawal Form. Along with the diploma, the diploma supplement and the original high school diploma are also provided.
Graduation Certificates, Diplomas, and Diploma Supplements are delivered only to the students themselves or their proxies who present a notarized power of attorney. If students are not in Turkey, the power of attorney must be issued by a Turkish Consulate.
Diplomas are not sent by mail, and requests made by telephone, fax, or email are not accepted or processed.
Note: It is not necessary to return the Graduation Certificate when receiving the diploma.
Note: Students collecting their diplomas must bring their ID card.
