Opticianry

Welcome to Vocational School of Health Services

The aim of this program is to educate professionals capable of interpreting the written prescriptions of specialized opticians and provide clients with glasses, contact lenses, various types of optical equipment, glass frames, protective glasses, and sunglasses in compliance with the patients’ needs. Having also been trained as competent managers of this field, the graduates of this program could be employed as responsible managers in the sector or commence their own business.

Aim

The aim of this program is to educate professionals capable of interpreting the written prescriptions of specialized opticians and provide clients with glasses, contact lenses, various types of optical equipment, glass frames, protective glasses, and sunglasses in compliance with the patients’ needs.

Graduation Requirements

Students must successfully finish all courses and internships set by the program taking at least 120 ECTS credits in total, to be granted the Bachelor’s degree. Graduation eligibility is determined by academic average score. For this purpose, the sum of the weighted scores of all courses taken throughout the education is divided by the sum of ECTS values.

Employement Opportunities

The program graduates have job opportunities in the private sector optician establishments. They can also open their own workplace.
